There are new studies being prepared for the fall session. 

On Wednesday, the focus will shift to discovering the keys to powerful prayer.  Kathy will lead a six week study titled, “When God’s People Pray” by Jim Cymbala. If needed, child care will be provided. The starting date will be announced.

During the 9:30 Sunday school hour, Kathy will be leading a 12 week Bible study with a unique gardening emphasis, “A Down to Earth Bible Study, for growing in God’s Kingdom.” Please let Kathy know if you are interested, so materials can be bought. This class will begin after Labor Day.

The youth will be leading a VBS based study for the children of the church during the Sunday service…starting time to be announced. We will begin during the Sunday service time and last for 2 hours. The kids will be fed during this time, so parents will be able to enjoy a kid-free lunch after service. More details to follow.  We are planning a September starting date and it will run for 5 weeks, only on Sundays.

Congratulations to all the graduates in our congregation, whether it is from High School, College, or just advancing a grade. You are important to the church and to the country and we continue to pray for your advancement and futures. God bless you.

Remember that Pastor Jack is a resident at Baywind, Room 403.  When you have a spare moment, pop by to visit him.  Pray that the Lord bathe him in comfort as he under goes rehab and whatever the future holds for him.

Coach Schumaker a coach at Bay Area Christian School fell from the bleachers a few weeks ago and was severely injured.  The coach is very much loved and appreciated at the school.  While I do not know him my kids do attend this school and we are part of the school family.  As such we wish to support the coach and his immediate family.

You can get information on the coach at Bay Area Christian web site as well as updates on his condition.  You are urged to pray and assist where possible.

It is summer time and we often get busy in the fun and sun of summer and forget so I just wanted to remind you that the church still needs weekly donations the to food pantry. These can be left in the box at the back of the sanctuary. If you need to know what to donate you can think of the good things you eat and the pantry probably needs it.

AN OLD HYMN

The familiar words of the hymn, “Count Your Blessings” come to mind: “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings and see what God has done.” How liberating and exciting this can be for anyone who truly begins to practice this truth according to I Cor. 16:2. It’s my prayer that you would begin to COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS EACH WEEK AND START A “BLESSINGS FUND” TO HELP YOU BE MORE JOYFUL AND GENEROUS IN YOUR GIVING TO THE LORD’S WORK. (more…)
