Morning Thoughts – Work

Work

Work is important. Besides being necessary to provide for our
family, we feel fulfilled when we can work and be gainfully
employed. Jesus talked about a different kind of work – the
work that God asks of us. It is not grievous or overly difficult
and it isn’t even a physical work. We are to cleave to, trust,
rely on and have faith in Jesus. That is the work God asks of
us to attain eternal life. To cleave is to hold on tight as if
glued together.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John recorded, “Jesus replied, This
is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in
the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on,
and have faith in His Messenger].” John 5:29 (AMP)

Today, your work is to hold on tight to Jesus.
