Fishing is one of those past times many people enjoy. But fishing can be a little discouraging unless you catch fish. Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. When Jesus told him to launch out into the deeper water and let down your nets, Peter reluctantly obeyed and let down the net. The result was such a large catch of fish his net broke. Sometimes we are reluctant to step out and completely follow the directions of the Lord or we like Peter let down one net when the Lord wants to bless us with more than one net can hold.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Luke wrote, “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.” Luke 5:4-7 (KJV)
Today, step out in faith and let down your nets and let Jesus bless you.
