Morning Thoughts – Looking and Seeing

Looking and Seeing

When you look at someone or something, what do you see?
Like me you see the outward appearance. We do not have
the ability to look into the heart of someone. We don’t know
the pain that is there. We might be able to tell if they are
happy, sad, lonely or in pain by looking at their face; but, we
have to really see them to do that. When selecting the king
of Israel, God told His prophet Samuel to not look at his
outward appearance.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Samuel records, “But the Lord said
unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of
his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not
as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance,
but the Lord looketh on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 KJV

Today, ask God to show you the hearts of those around you.
