Confession

Confession

Confession is good for the soul.  On Sunday, February 18th, while eating lunch, I discovered two debit cards and two credit cards were missing from my purse.  The only time my purse was left unattended was at a church function on Saturday, February 17th.  I was devastated at the thought someone would take my cards; but more so at our church.  When we arrived home, I searched everywhere; but did not find them.  I took the immediate steps to cancel all cards and alerted our pastor and friends.  Yesterday, while cleaning out the truck, my husband found all of the cards that had fallen down between the front seat and the console.  I had a mixture of emotions – joy, shame, embarrassment, contrition and sorrow.  I confess the immediate thought was to just forget it and go on.  But, I could not do that, because, I had brought derision on my church, which is the church of my Lord Jesus.  I firmly believe in “as wide as the offense, so must the remedy be.”  To all my church family, please forgive me for jumping to conclusion.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, James records, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16  (KJV)

Today, confess your faults and be healed.
