Morning Thoughts – Bearing Fruit

Bearing Fruit

Last Summer a dear lady at our church shared some figs with me
and of course I made fig preserves. This fall, that same lady gave
us some cuttings from her fig tree. I’m not a plant person with green
thumbs; however, my husband can grow anything. I’m amazed that
these sticks are still alive. They had no roots; but somehow they are
growing and I hope will one day bear fruit. As Christians, we are to
bear fruit – to love like Jesus loves, give as generously as possible to
further the cause of Christ around the world. Who knows what fruit
(lost souls) will be born into the kingdom of God as a result.

Jesus said, ā€œI am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains
in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing
without Me. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much
fruit and prove to be My disciples.” John 15:5,8 (HCSB)

Today, bear some fruit – love like Jesus loves.
