April Fools Day

Traditionally, April first has been called “April Fools Day.”  Jokes are played on people usually, all in good fun.  Does it seem strange to you that there would be a day for fooling people?  Actually, fooling people is the full time job of the enemy of our souls.  He would like to fool people all the way to hell.  I once heard someone tell the story of Satan and his demons getting together to strategize as to how they could fool people into going to hell.  The answer they came up with was to tell people “don’t make a decision about eternity – there is still time.”  Millions still believe there is still time, when in fact none of us have the promise of the next moment.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” Psalm 14:1  and  Paul wrote “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)

Today, don’t be fooled by the enemy of our souls.  Give your heart and life to the Lord before it is too late.
