Benefit #4 – Steadfast Love

Benefit #4 – Steadfast Love (Part 1)

In the English Standard Version Psalm 103:4b is written as “who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.”  The synonyms for “steadfast” include “loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, true, constant, staunch, solid, firm, determined, resolute, relentless, implacable, single-minded; unchanging, unwavering, unhesitating, unfaltering, unswerving, unyielding, unflinching, uncompromising.”  Just look at the words that describe how committed God is to loving us. 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”  1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”  His very nature and being is LOVE.  Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God reached down to mankind and demonstrated His love for all His world. John 3:16,17 (AMP) records, “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.”  Rejoice that God crowns you with STEADFAST LOVE.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  Psalm 103:1-5   (KJV)

Today, Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits.  Receive His benefit of Steadfast Love.
