Comfort

Comfort

This was a scary time.  Events were unfolding that had the potential to cause Mary to be ostracized from her family and friends.  However, God comforted Mary when he told her to “fear not” before he told her she would have a child out of wedlock.  Likewise, Joseph, who knew he was not the father of his pregnant fiancee’s baby, had to make a decision.  Our faithful God comforted Joseph and told him also to “fear not.”  If you have events in your life that are not expected, “fear not” God is about to do something.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew wrote, ” But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:20-21 (KJV)

Today, “fear not” – let God comfort you in your circumstances and trust He is doing great things in and through you.
