Confidence

Today’s scripture has for many years been a concern of mine.  My greatest concern was having Jesus say He never knew me.  However, when reading today’s scripture, I saw something I had never seen before.  Today’s scripture focuses on what many will say at the resurrection regarding the works they have done in Jesus name; however, Jesus says he never knew them.  If Jesus never knew them, it’s because they did not know Him. Since God gave His precious and only son so mankind would be reconciled to Him, His will is for all mankind to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. We cannot do the works of God apart form the Spirit of God indwelling us when we become a part of God’s family through Jesus.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew records Jesus when He said, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)

Today, be confident, trust in, rely on, and cling to Jesus and He will see you through this life and welcome you into the next.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.
