Conviction vs. Condemnation

Conviction vs Condemnation

What is the difference between Conviction and Condemnation.  The example that comes to mind, would be when a criminal is convicted of a crime and sentenced to a prison sentence; however, condemnation is when a criminal is convicted of a crime and condemned to death.  As Christians we have been convicted of our sin without condemnation. There is no death sentence for us. There is hope for a life in which we have been set free from sin and death.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”  Romans 8:1-2 (NIV)

Today, when the Holy Spirit convicts you of sin, confess it and know you are not condemned.
