Flossing

Before you brush your teeth, do you floss?  All dentists recommend flossing to prevent decay between your teeth.  You might wonder what flossing has to do with our relationship to Christ.  It is simple, when we floss, we clean impurities that would otherwise not be reached by brushing.  Likewise, when we pray we need the cleansing power of the Holy Spirit to show us those hidden sins – those sins we would tend to overlook – those sins that would ultimately cause decay in our relationship to the Lord.  Jesus compared sin to leaven (yeast) that grows and increases in size.  Sin may start out as a simple small infraction that does not seem so bad; however, when we accept the little sins, our acceptance of other sins become easier.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you root out those hidden sins and to cleanse you.  If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and receive His new life.
