He’s Coming (Part 1)

For the past few weeks, theses messages have been birthed in my heart to share.  I don’t take this opportunity lightly; but, with fear and trembling.  For the next few days or as long as it takes, I will be sharing with you what I believe the Lord has laid on my heart.  The format will be a bit different.

The topics will include: Who said Jesus is coming? What do people say about His coming? What does God’s word say about His coming and why do I believe He is coming? When is He coming?

When looking at the Old Testament, one cannot help but read what the prophets had to say about Jesus’s coming.  Isaiah said, “Isaiah 13:6 Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”

Clearly Isaiah was not referring to the birth of Jesus, who did not come to destroy; but to restore.  So, if Isaiah was not referring to the birth of Jesus, he was referring to the return and second coming of Jesus since, the day of the Lord’s return will be the end of life as we know it and the beginning of life in eternity with Him. All sinners will be judged. For those who have accepted the finished work of Jesus on the cross when He died for our sins, we will have Jesus as our advocate.  He will speak on our behalf and we will be saved from destruction.  However, for those who have never received Jesus, they will experience God’s wrath and fierce anger.

Why is this important? Because God’s word is true, and everything spoken or written about Jesus up to this point in time has come to pass; therefore, we can trust that the future events written in God’s word will come to pass.  We can rely on what Isaiah said, “the day of the Lord is at hand.”

Today, be confident in His coming.  If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and receive His new life.

Remember God Loves you and I Do Too.
