He’s Coming (Part 2)

These messages regarding the Day of the Lord represent the heart and soul of the prophet’s messages of long ago.  Yet they are as relevant today as when they were written.

The prophet Joel wrote, “Joel 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand; Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.”

Joel first wanted people to know the “Day of the Lord is at hand” and that destruction was coming from the Almighty.  Why? When God created the heavens and the earth, it was perfect and there was No Sin in His beautiful creation; however, when Sin entered, the world was no longer clean and pure.  God will not allow his children to spend eternity in a sin filled world. Therefore, at His chosen time, this world will be destroyed and all that is in it.

Second, Joel wanted people to know the day of the Lord is near and that decisions must be made.  Today, many are in the valley of decision. In that valley, each person must decide to either serve the Lord or reject Him.  There is NO middle ground.  One cannot put it off because we never know when our days will end or when Jesus will return.

Today, do not think about what people will think or say if you choose to give your life to Jesus. My Mom said, “Every tub sits on its own bottom.”  You are responsible for your eternal destiny – no one else.  Choose Jesus and be confident in His coming and your eternal destination.  If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and receive His new life.

Remember God Loves you and I Do Too.
