Hope (Part 2)

Do you hope for heaven?  In this day and time, hope for heaven can draw all sorts of derision from unbelievers.  In the book of Colossians, hope is mentioned three times in the first chapter – “hope which is laid up for you in heaven;” “hope of the gospel;” and “hope of glory.”  Paul encourages believers to continue in hope because hope will never make us ashamed of what we believe.  He further tells us why hope will never make us ashamed of our belief in Christ – because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”  Romans 5:5 (KJV)

Today, continue in hope.
