It Is Well

Horatio G. Spafford, a successful Chicago attorney had five children 1 son and 4 daughters.  The son died of pneumonia and the four daughters died in a ship while crossing the Atlantic with their mother.  His wife sent a telegram when she was safely ashore which said, “saved alone.”  Amidst his grief and loss, he wrote, the hymn “It Is Well With My Soul.”  Our savior, Jesus Christ knows the grief and sorrow of loss when just one of his own fails to accept Him as their Lord and Savior.  He is not willing that any should perish; but that all would come to know Him.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John recorded Jesus when he said, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”  John 8:12 (KJV)

Today, don’t walk in darkness – follow Jesus and walk in His light.
