Morning Thoughts – Excuses

Excuses

It seems as though our society as a whole does not take responsibility
for our actions. People everywhere blaming someone else. Jonah was
no different. When God repented and did not destroy Nineveh, Jonah
made his excuses to God as to why he fled to Tarshish. Notice he did
not make excuses when he was in the belly of the fish. How about you,
do you take responsibility for your actions or do you make excuses?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Jonah records, “He prayed to the Lord and
said, “O Lord, is this not what I said when I was still in my country? That
is why I ran to Tarshish, because I knew that You are a gracious and
compassionate God, slow to anger and great in lovingkindness, and
[when sinners turn to You] You revoke the [sentence of] disaster
[against them].” Jonah 4:2 (AMP)

Today, stop making excuses as to why you can’t – study God’s word,
surrender to Him and seek His will for your life. He is gracious, merciful,
slow to anger and of great kindness. He might just save our land.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.
