Morning Thoughts – Ransom

Ransom

Ransom is “a sum of money or other payment demanded or paid for the
release of a prisoner.” We often hear of a ransom being paid to ensure
the release of someone who has been kidnapped. Did you know you had
become a prisoner – to sin and Jesus paid the ransom to restore your
fellowship with our Father?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Peter wrote, “God paid a ransom to save you
from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and
the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver as you very well know. But
he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless
Lamb of God.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 TLB

Today, give thanks for you have been released from your prison of sin by
the precious lifeblood of Christ.
