Morning Thoughts – Want

Want

My Aunt Cleo had a wall plaque that read, “Man wants but
little and is easy pleased; but Woman bless her heart wants
everything she sees.” I remember thinking that was a strange
plaque. Then as I grew older, I wanted first one thing and then
another. Eventually I realized that even when I got the thing I
wanted, then I wanted something else. Now that I’m older, I
realize, my wants are much less. David said, “The Lord is my
shepherd, I shall not want” and then he went on to talk of how
the Lord provided everything he needed.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, David wrote, “The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He
leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me
in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You
prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You
anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the
house of the Lord Forever.” Psalm 23 (NKJV)

Today, turn your wants over to the Lord and thank Him for His provision.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.
