New

We had to purchase a new dishwasher yesterday.  As with most new things, a new  dishwasher has never been used.  What about our spiritual lives?  When we asked Christ to be our Lord and Savior, He made us new creations.  While that is the single most important newness in our lives, each day God’s mercies for us are NEW.  Mercy is our not getting what we deserve.  Aren’t you glad everyday God gives us NEW Mercies.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:22-23  (AMPC)

Today, give thanks for God’s mercies, which are NEW and unused for you today.
