Pray

Pray

When the doctors told us there were only two options for my Mom, (1) do nothing or (2) do surgery.  In the do nothing option, she would slowly bleed to death and in the do surgery option, she might die.  At that point, I cried “Lord please make a way where there seems to be no way.  I texted that message to my prayer partners and asked that they pray specifically – “Lord please make a way where there seems to be no way.”  The next day her surgeon, a man who loves the Lord, came in and put her on medications for her colitis.  She began to recover.

When Moses and the children of Israel were faced with the Red Sea in front of them and the mighty army of Pharaoh behind them, God made a way, where there seemed to be no way.  That is the kind of God we have.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Isaiah records, “Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; . .  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”  Isaiah 43:16, 19 (KJV)

Today, whatever your need, go to God and ask Him to show you how to pray for that need.  Most likely he will point you to scripture – pray that scripture and give thanks for His abundant love, mercy and grace.  He loves you and will answer your prayers.  Pray specifically.
