Refuge

Refuge

I’m a child of the sixties and the cold war era.  Bomb shelters were much discussed during that time.  People went out and spent hard earned money on bomb shelters as a place of refuge in case of war.  At the time, I had little knowledge of the true significance of the situation.  I was just plain scared.  In the times in which we live, tribulations, wars and rumors of wars will always be discussed.  It seems the media is hooked on terrible acts of pending possible wars.  Let us not get ourselves in a state of panic; let us turn to our God who is our ever present help, refuge, and strength.  He will help us.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1 (KJV)
Today, trust God for your strength, refuge and help.

Jesus is coming soon – for all, believers and non-believers alike.  It is the reception each will receive that will make the difference for all eternity.  What will be your reception?
