Pirates were always looking for treasure. Even today people search the open seas for sunken ships and their buried treasure. How about you, what do you treasure? Is it material things – cars, boats, ATV, home, phones, etc? Perhaps, it is your sports team. Where our treasures are is where our heart is. Matthew tells us we are to concern ourselves with treasures in heaven, which are eternal and not treasures here on earth as they are temporal and will decay from rust or moths or be stolen.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew wrote, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 (NKJV)
Today, seek to have treasures in heaven.
