Unexpected

Can you imagine someone giving you an unexpected gift?  What
about Mary, when the angel told her to rejoice because she was
highly favored, the Lord was with her, and that she was blessed
among women.  Just to see and angel would be unexpected.  How
would you react to that?  What emotions would you experience –
anxiety, fear, surprise, disbelief – probably all of the above and more.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Luke records, “[Christ’s Birth Announced
to Mary ] Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God
to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man
whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name
was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly
favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Luke 1:26-28 (NKJV)

Today, expect the unexpected blessings of God.
