Unrest

Throughout our land there is unrest. Christians are belittled, berated and laughed at. In the world, more Christians have been martyred in the recent past than in all of history. What do we do? Lets take a lesson from an Old Testament King – Jehoshaphat.  Israel was surrounded by a mighty army. An army too large for Israel to defeat. Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.” Believers came together to join him in prayer and fasting. After they prayed, the word of the Lord came to them to encourage them. “And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but Gods.”  Let us pray for our nation, proclaim a fast, seek God’s face and trust Him.  These days did not take God by surprise and He is not on the throne wringing His hands wondering what to do.  These days are for our growth in our relationship with Him.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Chronicles recorded, And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord: for his mercy endureth forever.” 2 Chronicles 20:21 (KJV)

Today, seek God in prayer and see the movement of His mighty hand. (Read 2 Chronicles 20:1-30 for the rest of the story.)
