Weary

Do you ever grow weary?  Does life seem to be closing in around you so much so that you can’t seem to breathe?  Is there a situation in your life in which you have no control?  Do you feel powerless?  I have good news for you.  Paul said we are to rejoice, pray, and give thanks.  Now I don’t want this to sound simplistic; however, when God says rejoice, we need to rejoice; when He says pray, we need to pray and when He says give thanks, we need to give thanks.  All of these instructions follow a list of actions we can take to release our weariness to Him.  I’m not speaking hypothetically, I have experienced His hand move when I rejoice over an unpleasant situation, pray about that situation and then give thanks in the midst of that weariness that tends to overwhelm us unless we rejoice, pray and then give thanks.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (KJV)

Today, rejoice because this day did not take Jesus by surprise, pray for His guidance and then give thanks because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
