What’s the Difference

What is the difference between Grace and Mercy?  The definitions are Grace – the unmerited favor of God.  Mercy -compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender.  I have heard it said Grace is getting what you don’t deserve and Mercy is not getting what you deserve.  In any event Grace, Mercy, and Truth came by Jesus Christ.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 (KJV)  The Psalmist wrote, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” Psalm 85:10 (KJV)
