Why? (Part 3)

One of the most often asked questions by little children is “Why.” Monday’s scripture reminded us that Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.  Yesterday’s scripture reminded us we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, Jesus. Today we read  “Why did he rise from the grave?” Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us and that He would come again to receive us.  You see, after the broken relationship, mankind had to be restored to be in God’s presence.  It took the perfect sacrifice of Jesus to bring about that restoration.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John recorded Jesus when He said, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”  John 14:1-3 (KJV)

Today, realize how important you are to Jesus, who came to seek and save you and me; because we were lost from our relationship to Him; Jesus restored our relationship to God by His death on the cross; and is even now preparing a place for us to be with Him in Heaven.
