Worry/Fret Not (Final)

At the beginning of this series, it was said when you want someone to remember something, you tell them what you are going to say, then you tell them and then you tell them what you told them.  David, the Psalmist, said in the beginning to Fret Not.  At the end of this Psalm, he repeated himself twice and said Fret Not. He also gave us some positive things we can do – Trust, Delight, Commit and Rest.  He also said, cease from anger and forsake wrath, both of which destroys our peace and leads to anxiety and worry.  God’s word has so much positive actions for us if we just look for it.

This week read Psalm 37:1-8 and meditate on what God’s word says about how to overcome worry.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit,  the Psalmist wrote, “Fret (Worry) not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.” Psalm 37:1-8  (KJV)

Today, trust, delight, commit, and rest in God and Worry/Fret NOT.
