When you plant a seed or cutting, much care is provided to ensure the seed or cutting is placed just right in the soil to promote optimal growth. The planting of a Christian requires careful attention to the details of our life. The Psalmist told us how we will be blessed when we don’t walk, stand or sit with the ungodly, the sinners or the scornful; but we delight in the Lord and mediate on His word. As a result, the planted Christian will bring forth fruit; will not wither and whatever we do will prosper.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)
Today, make plans to plant yourself firmly in God’s word.
