Condemned vs. Convicted

In a court of law, a person is convicted of a crime – meaning they were found guilty. However, once convicted – depending upon the seriousness of the crime, they may be condemned to death – meaning they have been sentenced to death. In our lives we often allow the enemy of our souls to condemn us for the sins we have committed; however, God’s word says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  (John 3:17 KJV) When we commit sins, the Holy Spirit will convict us of those sins without condemning us. If you have confessed your sin, you have been forgiven of your sin. Move on and don’t let your enemy keep bringing it up to you. Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it is not too late, today is the day of salvation.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 (KJV)
