Press On

When runners run a race, they keep focused on the finish line. If they
kept looking back, they would have no hope of winning. Life is like that.
When we keep looking back at our failures, we are stuck there. The
focus for a Christian is to keep the prize always before us. We can’t get
stuck looking at the past or the here and now. Our goal is heaven with
our Lord and Saviour. Paul said to forget those things that are behind
and reach for the future – keep enduring and moving toward the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “Brethren, I count not myself to
have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which
are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
