The Coming of the Lord (Part 2)

Paul’s instruction to the Thessalonians regarding the coming of the Lord helps us to know what we can expect in these last days.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-8

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things: And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Paul wanted us to not be shaken or troubled by anything we think, hear or read regarding the nearness of the coming of the Lord. Paul cautioned us not to be deceived. There will be a falling away first.  A falling away is the people who once served the Lord will turn their backs on their faith and seek after the world.  However, we as Christians are encouraged that the son of perdition will not be revealed until the Holy Spirit is taken out of the world.  Then the evil one and all the evil work will continue until the Lord returns and destroys all evil with the brightness of His coming.

Today, while you still can, share the good news of God’s love demonstrated through Jesus death, burial, and resurrection.  He’s alive and because He lives, we live also.

If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and you will receive His new life.

Remember God Loves you and I Do Too.
