Who Do You Love?
When someone says the word “love,” who or what do
you think about? We say the word flippantly – I just
love that dress, blouse, car, boat, and a host of other
things. Yet, when we read God’s word, we discover
some important things about love – God is Love – the
very essence. We are to Love God with all our hearts
and our neighbors as we love ourselves. Love is not
tangible; but we can see love in the actions of people
and can demonstrate love to God and to others.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “If anyone says
“I love God,” but keeps on hating his brother, he is a liar;
for if he doesn’t love his brother who is right there in front
of him, how can he love God whom he has never seen?
And God himself has said that one must love not only
God but his brother too.” 1 John 4:20-21 (TLB)
Today, get to know God and demonstrate His Love to
those around you.
