Building

Have you ever built a home or watched one being built?  The foundation is always first and is a critical part of the stability of the home.  If you get the foundation right, then the structure will be sound. Conversely, if the foundation is weak, then the structure will also be weak. While the physical structure of a home is important, the spiritual foundation of your home is critical.  Jesus said it best, when he compared a house built on the rock vs a house built on sand.  The home built on the rock (Jesus) will stand the storms of life and will not fail; however, a house built on sand has a shifting foundation and the storms of life will cause it to fall.  On what have you built your home?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew records Jesus when He said, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV)

Today, evaluate the spiritual foundation of your home to see if Jesus is your foundation.
