Losses

Have you lost a loved one to death?  The pain is so overwhelming, it hard to breathe.  How did you handle it?  Did you question why? Were you angry at God? Not to worry, He is able to handle your questions, hurt and anger.  Job was a man who had seven sons and three daughters.  He was wealthy beyond imagination.  He served and feared God.  Yet he lost everything – his children, his wealth and his standing in the community.  His wife, lovely woman that she was, told him to “curse God and die.”  His friends told him it was his fault.  But Job through it all hung on to his faith and eventually, God blessed him for his faithfulness.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Job records, “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. Job 2:9-10 (KJV)

Peter wrote, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”  2 Peter 4:12-13

Today, no matter your loss, hang on to your faith. God will see you through.
