Morning Thoughts – Correction

Correction

When I was growing up, discipline and correction went hand in hand or
should I say hand to backside.  The correction of a loving parent is
different from that of an abusive parent.  Loving parents correct for the
benefit and growth of a child.  God does that to His children also.  His
correction is always done out of love.

The author of Hebrews wrote, “And have you quite forgotten the
encouraging words God spoke to you, his child? He said, “My son,
don’t be angry when the Lord punishes you. Don’t be discouraged
when he has to show you where you are wrong.  For when he punishes
you, it proves that he loves you. When he whips you, it proves you are
really his child.” Let God train you, for he is doing what any loving father
does for his children. Whoever heard of a son who was never corrected?” 
Hebrews 12: 5-7 (TLB)

Today, allow God to correct you where correction is needed.  It truly is
for your benefit.
