Unimagined Joy

Can you imagine that joy can come from suffering? Imagine or get a picture of this event; Beaten, Battered, Bruised and Bleeding, Carrying a heavy wooden cross; Nails hammered into your feet and hands; Thorns pressed into the skin on your head; A spear thrust into your side; and People mocking and ridiculing you.  If you knew this was going to happen to you would you consider this to be Joyful? Yet, Hebrews records that “For the JOY that was set before Him,” Jesus endured those very things. I wonder have you ever suffered to that extent?  I know I haven’t. We complain when things look difficult. But do we consider the Unimaginable Joy that is ahead of us because we know Jesus?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Hebrews records, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Hebrews 12:1-4 (KJV)

Today, seek Joy in the Journey.
