Roots
We recently had to cut down a tree, that had a root growing up into the trunk. It threatened to break apart and fall on the house. Everyone knows roots are to grow down deep into the soil; however, when roots grow wild and not as they are intended, the tree dies. When our roots don’t grow down deep into God’s word, we are at risk of dying spiritually. Conversely, when our roots grow deep into God’s word, we get to know Him and His marvelous love for us.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love;.” Ephesians 3: 17 (TLB)
Today, make Christ more at home in your heart and grow deep in the soil of God’s marvelous love.
